Posted at 07:43 PM on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 by District 15 President
The next District Meeting for District 15 will be held Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the VFW Post 4286 post home in Newland, NC. The joint meeting will begin at 2:00 pm. Arrangements have been made for an instructional class for VFW members on the new on-line reporting system that will go into use this year. The class will be at 1:00 pm. If you do reporting to the department you will need to plan to attend.
Also, ladies, individual instruction will be available for those auxiliaries interested in getting their website going. All District 15 auxiliaries need to work with your District President to learn how to start using your website this year.

Thought for the Week
Posted at 03:55 PM on Sunday, March 14, 2010 by District 15 President
Week of March 14, 2010
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that can.” ______Margaret Mead
Our organization is an organization of volunteers with a common goal……….serving our veterans and their families. Sometimes we get discouraged when we look at all the work that needs to be done, and all the trouble in the world around us. It seems like more than we can accomplish. But no one of us is asked to do it all alone…..only to do our individual small part, as a member of the larger group. Together we can make a difference. So let’s turn our eyes back on our goal (not our problems), embrace our sisters working with us, encourage each other, welcome new sisters to join us in our efforts, and let’s keep moving toward our goal. Thank you for all you do for our veterans.
In case your spirits still need lifting, here’s a year’s worth of reasons to volunteer:
(I’ll add a new one each week for the next year.)
1. Answer a need.
